12月29日 NEW HOME for blogBOOKMARK ME That is the home of my new blog. Say BYE BYE MSN! Come see me, read, laugh, cry, and comment! 12月28日 Help Me Choose!PLEASE help me choose a final home for my blog. I am currently blogging in 3 differnt sites. (they are always the same, I just copy and paste) And well, I'm sick of it. SO I am on the quest to find a perm. home for my blog..... please check them out and let me know your favorite. THANKS! Word Press Blog Spot Live Journal My Space 12月27日 My 2006Yes it's a survey but hey, it's the end of the year so.... It's been a whileI didn't blog last week. (duh right?) It was a week that I didn't
want to have out there for everyone to see and for me to be able to
reread over and over again. Needless to say it was down right a
horrible week. BUT life is working it's way back to normal again. So
here I am, blogging. Christmas: It was very small for us this year. Thanks (A HUGE THANKS) to Jeremy's family he was able to fly home Christmas Morning. I missed him more than I wanted to admit, and in the midst of such a horrible week it was REALLY bad timing to have him gone. I can't tell you all how much I have told him I love him since he's been gone. I'm sure he'll get sick of it soon. I worked for a couple hours during the afternoon and then we spent the night and the following day at my parents with family. That was a lot of fun. Art and Steph got this huge train set for them and the boys and we played with that thing for HOURS! Movies: I saw "The Holiday" three times last week. I went once by myself when I needed an escape from life. The following day my mom and I went to see it and then two days later Dad wanted to go too. I'll be honest I REALLY like the movie. Even after seeing it that much. I laughed and cried all three times. Last night the entire family went to see "We Are Marshall". It really was Beautiful. A wonderful tribute and well done if you ask me. People even clapped at the end. (doesn't happen too often, unless you are sitting by my mom.) Granted it was only a slightly louder applause than the Harry Potter preview got, but still. Dog: We didn't get Lulu the little dog we were looking to adopt. The gave her to a family in SLC with children (hi, can you please rub salt into an open wound). So we are still looking. We might look into getting another Bishon Frise. NO not a puppy, but a rescue. Peace, Love, and Comfort. 12月20日 Another Dog?!So I've been looking off and of for another dog. Max needs a friend and with all his energy I figured he needs one with energy. I finally e-mailed an application for one named Lulu that lives in Hurricane, UT. Here is her little description that made me think she'd be perfect for Mr. Fluffball Max. "Lulu is believed to be a purebred Cairn Terrier but she does not have papers. She is spayed and up to date on her shots and is only 1.5 years old. She weighs about 9 pounds. She is great dog who loves to cuddle but also loves to go hiking and proved to be too energetic for her elderly owner. In fact, Lulu has disrupted out of two adoptive placements because of her energy. She just needs someone who is willing to do some obedience training with her and make an outlet for her energy level. She gets along with other dogs and humans of all ages. Give Lulu a Home 4 the Holidays." Of all the dogs I've searched and looked at she seemed to be the perfect fit. But we will see. The woman said there is a lot of interest for her and so they are being very selective because she's been returned before. I had to fill out a big application with loads of questions about her energy level. They say she'll grow out of it in 2-3 years... honestly that's better than Max... he will just die one day. Most Bichons are very energetic very late into their lives. We shall see. Cross your fingers that they think we will be good for Lulu. It just works so well... Lulu and Max Mauss. HA HA HA Peace, Love, and Lulu 12月19日 I'll Have a Blue Christmas Without YouJeremy
flew out to Houston this morning. The congestion that was in my nose
and sinuses has moved it's way into my ears and so I won't be able to
fly out to be with him tomorrow. The thought of bursting my ear drums
during landing or takeoff (thanks for freaking me out for life MaryAnn)
is keeping me grounded. So now I'm at home, watching documentaries all
day. I was going to go to my parents but then the thought of the guest
bed vs. my Cal King masterpiece... ya Max and I stayed up here. It was sunny today however... that was a change. The snow has started to melt a bit already. Peace, Love, and Soft but Lonely Beds. 12月17日 Perfect StormThis is what I call the perfect storm..... ~A cold/flu/sinus pressure that WON'T GO AWAY. Every time I think it is going away, it hits harder the next day. ~(sorry boys) "that time of the month" ~Messy House ~A foot of snow outside so Max gets LOST in it and I have to go save him. (and it's STILL SNOWING) I've called in sick.... So I'm going to go lay back down.Peace, Love, and Sudafed. 12月16日 Eragon - Not as good as I wishedLet
me start by saying Eragon (the book) was amazing. I loved it and read
it in a few short days. Couldn't put it down (or the second book for
that matter). I found the story lines wonderful and couldn't wait to
see how they did it on the big screen. My imagination rocked... the movie did not. I expected.... well more. I know there was a lot jammed into the book but I felt like we watched about 15 pages of the book for 2 hours. The SERIOUSLY condensed version, with a lot of stuff I didn't think was well done thrown in. Multiple story lines were gone, and if there is going to be a second movie I wonder how. I think I might have enjoyed it better if I'd never read the book. OR read it after. Three out of the Four of us read the book: -The one that hadn't said it was ok, but could be cheesy, and the effects weren't the best. -Two of us felt let down for multiple reasons. Not only with the quality of the movie (casting in some cases, directing in others) but also from huge gaps in the story lines and how some important (to us) parts were MIA. -My dad (who did read it) LOVED it and couldn't believe we didn't. Granted sometimes his choice in movies is a bit off. HA HA. Said will all the info they had from the book there is no way they could fit it in there. Compared it to one of his favorites 'Dune'.... honestly dad. I know there are some of you out there that are saying "Bobbie, the books are always better than the movie." Lord of the Rings - AMAZING movies imo. Harry Potter - Still not as good as the books but so far I've been really impressed. (really loved the last one) Narnia - I even read this book 2 days before the movie and STILL enjoyed the movie and thought they followed it closely. Band of Brothers - I know it's a mini-series but COME ON! Schinders List - Hard to watch but still very true to the book. Seabiscut - liked the book a lot more but the Movie stood on it's own! SO.... While I TOTALLY suggest reading the book Eragon (and the next one Eldest) I don't want anyone to set too high of hopes on the movie. Will I own it one day, sure. Would I see it again in the theater... I'm not sure yet (dad's working on me). I think I set it up for failure. Peace, Love, and Slayed Dragons. 12月13日 new computer So the computer died! Dad took it in to get it looked at and
yes... it was dead. SO my dad worked out some trade with a guy he
knows and we ended up with a refurbished Dell. I am so blessed! I
start working from home tomorrow and we were really worried about what
we were going to do. It is actually a much better machine than we had
before. Thank God for our many blessings. Tonight Jeremy and I went to dinner with my mom and dad for his birthday. I am so lucky to have such an amazing family and amazing in laws. I know many who aren't as lucky. Jeremy is flying out Monday to Houston for a week. I will be coming out on Tuesday and back Wed... but at least I get to go. Jeremy is going to fly back Christmas Eve and then we will drive right to my parents. ALL of my siblings and their children are spending the night at my parents! Hopefully all goes well, but everyone is very excited. I will have to leave Christmas afternoon to go back home and work for a few hours but we are still excited. Wish me luck tomorrow.... first day at home! Peace, Love, and Computers. 12月9日 Last Day Today was
my last day working in the office. I have training for two days, then two
days off, and then... TADA... I will be working from home. I am excited,
but at the same time a little scared. To think I'll be working at home is
full of perks and frights. Lets ponder: 12月7日 I CUT MY HAIR!I cut my hair today! There is a picture on my page. So it's been a really great week here in Colorado. Minus the whole re-spraining my ankle, it's been wonderful. I catch a flight first thing tomorrow (well lets hope I get to catch the flight) It's looking iffy for the one early but the one tomorrow night looks really good just in case. It's my aunts birthday Tomorrow so I'd hate to make it so she is driving to and from the airport all day. Besides today being the day Pearl Harbor was attacked it's also the day that Jeremy lost his father Last year. I have to say he is doing really well. I can't wait to see him tomorrow and I know Holly and the Boys really wish he could have come. Next time we will have to make it a family trip (you know in 2 months when I need my hair cut, he he) It would be fun. I can't wait to spend some time with him tomorrow. Our plan is to go see the lights at Temple Square if I get back in time. Peace, Love, and "Flusteration". 12月5日 December 7th..... 65 years agoI would write this blog on the 7th, but
I will be out of town... so it's coming early. “Yesterday, December 7, 1941 - a date which will live in infamy - the United States of America was suddenly and deliberately attacked... Hostilities exist. There is no blinking at the fact that our people, our territory and our interests are in grave danger. With confidence in our armed forces - with the unbounded determination of our people - we will gain the inevitable triumph - so help us God. ” -Franklin D. Roosevelt
He reminded me of my own grandfather.
Grandpa passed away this year but I still remember when I asked him
why he would swear when he was younger. Every once in a while he'd
let out a Damn, or a Hell and my grandmother would always scold him.
(it was cute to me) Well after I asked his eyes twinkled a little
and he said "Sailors swear Bob." I had never known
before that point that he was a WWII Vet. He never talked about
it to us, I heard him mention the ship a few times. Grandma
says he would talk about it every once in a while with her, but that
most things he tried to forget some of the things he had seen.
He lost his brother in the war, and his mother passed away while he
was serving. I think about that and wonder. Could I do
that? I have not been asked to, yet if I was could I? Could I
see my husband off, and support him unknowing if I would see him
again in this life? Deep down I know I could, but I pray I won't
have to.
Peace, Love, and Prayers. Colorado here I come!I am so excited to go see family this week in Colorado. I was almost
cheerful on the phones today... almost. I've learned if you are too
cheerful they think they can roll over the top of you. OH and here's my
biggest pet peeve on the phones. At least three times a day I hear something like this. "Hello Bobbie, How are you? I need you to..." I am one of those people that likes to answer, you know a simple "I'm good and yourself?" WELL people seem to have gotten in the habbit of asking that question 'How are you?' so frequently that it no longer means anything. Why ask a question if you are going to just keep talking and not wait for an answer? Do you realize you asked it? Do you realize it's a question? Feedback please... I'm off to pack for Colorado. I hope I make the flights! Peace, Love, and 'I'm great, how are you?' |
